When using a handsaw
When you use a hand saw, you may be able to cut the film faced plywood, covered in melamine coating by marking a guiding line on the portion that you will be cutting through. Make sure that the line is visible enough as other film face plywood comes in color. Cut the plywood facing upwards. You need to do this as the edge of its coating under the lower face will probably chip off during the process of cutting. By having it this way, you may conceal the chipped edge.
When using a Power saw
The blades of the power saw will initiate cutting as it rises. So to make you won’t avoid some chipped edges on its coating, you will need to mark it with a guiding line on its back portion. You may now begin cutting with the back portion up front.
